Privacy Policy

SetupAI is a bilingual AI news briefing. Every day an AI editor selects ten stories from the day’s candidates, and each story gets an AI-assisted deep insight built from web search with citations. A weekly digest summarizes the week. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to contact us.

1. AI processing and sources

  • Summaries and deep insights are generated or assisted by AI models (Google Gemini for insights; OpenRouter-hosted models for selection and extraction).
  • We link to the original article on every story; the original publisher is the source of record.
  • AI output can be incomplete or wrong. We reject insights that lack grounding citations, but we cannot guarantee every sentence is correct.

2. What we collect

  • Vercel Web Analytics — aggregated usage (page views, referrers, approximate region, device/browser). No third-party analytics cookies; visitor sessions are discarded after 24 hours.
  • Vercel Speed Insights — anonymous performance metrics (Core Web Vitals).
  • Server logs — request metadata used for security, abuse prevention, debugging and reliability.
  • Newsletter email — if you subscribe, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider to send the weekly digest.

3. Third parties

We use service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting, analytics, performance), Google Gemini API and OpenRouter (AI processing), and Buttondown (newsletter). We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service.

4. Cookies

We do not use third-party cookies for analytics. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and provide notice and choices where required.

5. Retention

  • Analytics visitor sessions: discarded after 24 hours.
  • Server logs: up to 30 days unless longer retention is required for security or legal reasons.
  • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.

6. Third-party links

We link to third-party publishers and sources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
