About SetupAI

SetupAI is a bilingual AI briefing. We read English and Chinese sources, write short summaries, and once a week we say what actually mattered.

We are not a wire service and we do not reprint full articles. If you need the original, we send you there.

Who it’s for

People who build, buy, or brief others on AI: engineers, founders, and operators who need the cross-border picture — what US labs shipped, and what Chinese labs and media said about it.

How we work

  1. We watch a fixed set of publishers. Not every post is kept.
  2. We keep an item only if it changes a product, a price, a model, a rule, or a serious risk. Fashion EVs and generic gadget news stay out of the front page.
  3. Each kept item gets a short summary and a link to the original. If the source excerpt is too thin to support a claim, we stop at the summary. We do not invent a “deep dive”.
  4. On Fridays we write one briefing: three stories, why they matter, and one tool.

Summaries may be drafted with automated help and then checked. They can still be wrong or incomplete. The original article is the source of record.

Languages

English and Traditional Chinese. Same stories, not machine-dumped menus. If a line only exists in one language, we say so.

What we are not

  • Not affiliated with OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or any publisher we link to.
  • Not investment, legal, or medical advice.
  • Not a full-text reprint site.
